How to have a Pastel Summer

No hard rules that pastels are only there for Spring. Rock them this Summer with panache.
Scorching heat and parched throat craves for soothing chilled ice cream and we all love it. Same way the scorched summer is made lighter and more fresh with sorbet and ice cream colours in the wardrobe.
Wear the pastels in pretty dresses or floral prints or pair them as jackets or scarves with basics solids. You can also include them in the form of accessories, bags, footwear.
Chill those summer vibes with mint green, lemon yellow, peach, baby pink, lovely lavender, powder blue, beige and more..
So bring some ice cream not only in your refrigerator but also your cupboards  😋😉
I am sorted, what do you think?

Stop Taking For Granted

Today I was randomly talking to some people I met and suddenly it got me thinking and the thought just stayed as much as I got busy in the daily routine and chores, I was still very much thinking about it and that's when I decided to share it with you all.
We humans are so weird and wired differently. No matter whom we meet ( any random person ) even if we don't get along with them or don't like them we are polite.
We greet people and exchange pleasantries. Even at our worst mood we maintain a good facade or we chose to be publicly on good behaviour. However little we converse, we make sure we are not hurting anyone. So we are good, are we ?
- we talk nicely to others but what about those who are our family; people who are closest to us or who matter the most. So many times we take them for granted and end up hurting them the most... shouldn't be na that ways. If something which is valuable to us we take utmost care of it then why don't we do it or show it to tje people who matter the most. So many times we remove our irritation at family. We are angry with our loved ones for no reason. We cant keep our patience in a scenario where we would have with outsiders. We forget to be fun with people we love, forget to be on our best behaviour. Forget to be our best with the ones who matter the most. Strange are we, strange are our ways. I suppose its time we take a stock and realize this. Its good to maintain our best behaviour when we are with others but then its imperative to be better than best with people who matter the most who are close to you. Time we Stop taking loved ones for granted.
With that heavy thought i present to you a light Outfit of the day - its full fledged summer and its time to get your ponchos/ kaftans out. Here I am sporting my Kaftan easy breezy top. Love loose clothes.

My First pair of White Jeans and how to wear them with flare

Afraid of wearing white pants?
I have always been afraid or not so confident about wearing a pair of white jeans. Honestly ..
I am heavier on my bottom and on the plumper side so it was a big no according to the fashion bible.
White pants are meant for skinny girls - myth or reality.
I was soon to find out .. one more thing on my bucket list was about to be ticked or flicked in the bin.
I was out shopping for my birthday when I saw this gorgeous pair and in my heart I always wanted to try one out and then there were friends and family saying it will make you look thicker, not for you and you get the drift.
But guess this time I threw caution to the wind and went after my heart and was I glad I did that.  I rocked this look on my birthday ..  Loved it and completed another challenge in my brain, life, fashion, confidence whatever you may term it. But I did conquer this fear with ace.

Some tips to wear it with flare.
  • Always get the perfect fit, not too baggy or it will make you look more frumpy and big and not too tight, you don't want the colour to reflect on those areas that you want to camouflage more. It should fit perfectly.
  • Don't go in for a too thin material which is see through nor a too thick one which adds another layer which is not required.
  • Wear appropriate underwear, you don't want it to look like a bizarre peep show.
  • Pair the jeans with a plaid shirt and you have a classic on your hand.
  • create layers, try blazers, dusters, to break all that white. Just match the right colours. It will work out surely.
  • The classic one will always remain black and white - its magic. So pair it up with a black top.
  • White on white is pristine.
  • Try long tops, shirts, stripes if you don't want to experiment too much.
  • Lastly wear it with panache and carry it with attitude and you are done.
Such a classic piece for every wardrobe especially in Summer.

Hello March ...

Hi Guys, how are you all?
I am good and I know I have been kind of MIA in Feb. As you all know Feb is my favorite month and I was busy celebrating myself 😍😉
However that wasn't the only reason to keep me busy there was more.
As elections were there in this month and I coming from a political family was doing my bit. Now even if that was bot the case I still believe its we who bring the change. Hats off to the leaders for baring it all and wearing the weather and all the pressure and stress and still being there out for us guys .. let me tell you being a leader is no easy job .. lots to sacrifice ... that's if its the right kind of leader.
I did whatever I could and which was not too much, being the delicate darling that I am. I did less and fell ill more ... thanks to the extreme heat ... coming back to that in some time. However it was all worth it in the end.
Coming back to the heat ... March is here...

Hello March !!

Hello Spring ........ 🍁
The poetry that nature does ... Orange ink of budding flowers on the blue hues of unending notes of sky.... the brawny brown holding them together at their respective places ..
How beautiful are you .....  I Love the flaming Buds against the clear blue skies.... don't you ?

Btw we were facing extreme temperature since Feb. I really don't know what summer holds for us this time ...
I am keeping my fingers crossed but going by the looks of it .. it looks like one harsh one coming for us ...
For that I kinda prepared myself a bit .. Hold your breath - some of you must have seen it in my birthday celebrations video

which was fab by the way however for those who don't know - I chopped my hair before my Birthday and I went shortest ever since the time i started growing my hair long from my boy cut ( that's a long story for some other time).
Lots of people were shocked on my decision of going so short after having such a long mane but me being me ( rebel )
I go like my hair my way ... it will grow back eventually .. why stress so much ... its just hair ... and its one life ... do whatever you want... hai na 🤗
So here's my new look ...
The day I cut my hair...

Earlier

Now.

Do you like it ?
I feel it gives an edge. I like it, it has so many pros especially easy to manage and maintain ( I oil my hair more regularly now) however honestly i do miss my long mane...
I don't regret my decision at all though, I am enjoying my short hair till they last which already have started growing.

On another note ... March has already begun and I Love summer for the summery holiday vibes, long balmy nights, cool drinks, vacations, mangoes, nimbu paani, beaches, picnics and many of my favorite things.

Summer also means cool vibrant tones as well as pastels, big tropical and fun prints.
Comfort at its best.

First thing i did was to change my nail paint and I just wanted to go a bit pastel a bit less bright.

I chose the last shade by Nyc .
May be i should apply another coat.

Next time i will go for a bright summer shade but the summer definitely started on shimmery summer pastels.

Talking about summer favorites. No sooner than summer arrived I pulled another gem out of the treasure trove.

I was feeling a bit ... a lot low today .. so i whipped up a tall glass of Lassi sweet curd smoothie topped with some malai ( cream) and removed another jewel from my shelf .... I enjoyed the lassi and let the magic of Bond work wonders on my soul... and it sure did ... within minutes of getting lost in this treasure the umpteenth time... the words just soothed me and i never knew when i enveloped into dreams and napped like a baby ... The charm of Ruskin Bond ...
The power of the small little favorite things working wonders ... Do what you like ... what you love ... even if its the small little things .. for life is one big chapter made up of these small little simple things ...
 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁 #theseareafewofmyfavouritethings
Summer is made up of these Ruskin Bond stories don't you feel so ..

There is so much to catch up with you guys .. but I don't want to bombard everything at one go... lets keep loads of stuff for future.
For today I guess this will suffice.

Until we meet again.

Enjoy the summer and stay hydrated.

I so love to talk to you guys. ❤❤❤

Summer Love

Summer is almost coming to an end and yet I can't still part with my summer goodies.
I love summer - all goodies, heat and everything together, it's a complete package and a mind blowing one surely.
Balmy nights, warm days, blooms everywhere, mangoes and other hoards of fruits, vacations, travel, chirping birds, slurpy ice creams and barf golas ( ice dollies) sodas and sugar, pickles and murabbas ( mango jams and pickles). I won't trade this for anything.

Another memory another favorite came in my mail sitting snugly awaiting my return from a vacation I was completely enjoying. It was indeed a delicious surprise. The goodness of chilli guavas. Oh yes! Exactly the same taste which the peruwala bhaiyya used to have on his makeshift shop on his bicycle after school. Fresh cut guavas laden with chatpata spicy masala.
I opened the drink to the waft of memories so surreal. Parched my throat and my heart.
Thank you Paperboat you are always so gracious and I love your surprises. Keep them coming. This one is a winner out and out. I am hooked.

I can't just get enough of summer drinks and if you really think hard - why should I ? They are just insanely delicious all the more in this hot season.

I love the drinks from this shop in Narayan peth called Harshvardhan Cold drinks. It is very famous - he has amazing sodas and refreshing drinks and surprising concoctions. The variety is so huge and each one is simply delicious. The ones above are jaljeera sweet soda and kala khatta soda. They were yummy. Must visit if you from Pune. This place is always always crowded. Especially after 7pm.

The roadside lemonades and fresh lime water just win my heart over and over eventually I have just given my heart to them completely and stupidly.

I am such a romantic by heart. Little summer love notes for those flirty evenings. A little bit goes a long way ;) 😍❤️

My all time favorite fresh mango softy from a very old and famous shop on F.C Road, Pune - Cream California. I have been visiting this place since I was a kid. There softys are so amazingly creamy and delicious. The quality is maintained. I can eat these babies just one after another and never count. They make for a perfect summer date. This place is always buzzing with activity.

Mango crazy that's what I am. I want and love everything mango.
Nothing beats a home made Mango smoothie.
Very easy to make.
Freshly cut mango + milk + yogurt + vanilla ice cream (optional) + sugar according to taste (optional)  whip all this in a blender and you have fresh mango smoothie to slurp on the entire day.

Last but not the least summer blooms everywhere just make everything so much more pretty. I can't take my eyes off them.

This was me with my little bit of summer love.

Share yours with me.

Until next time.
Stay happy and cheerful☀️

Park, Unparked

To clear of my Monday blues I decided to visit one of the serene parks in my city (Pune) before a work meeting with a friend. However I had no idea that it is going to lead to terrible Monday woes.

To give a miss to the city traffic I rode down my two wheeler to this said park on the insistence of my friend. I had never visited this place, she told me to park the vehicle with hers. There were lots of watchmen over there for the park , after checking out baggage we were ready to indulge in nature.

I so love greenery. I think summers are the best time to visit these beauties (I can visit them all year round -24/7). No sooner than we entered I felt like I was drifting away from the city chaos in te heart of some serene far away beautiful forest.

I can live here forever 💚

Came out of the park and to my horror my lone bike out of all the vehicles was lift up by the traffic police- and it wasn't the area police where we were, but the area next to this place. Neither had even one watchman told me that I am not supposed to park my bike there nor was there any signs of no parking. Adding fuel to fire all the other vehicles along with my friends were still there intact.
I rushed to the police station and found my bike there. I explained my situation and told him that I am ready to pay the fine. However there was no traffic cop out there but a big group of bike lifters or should I say goons, who were extremely rude and were staring badly and talking in the most horrible way. He asked for an exuberant sum of money precisely ₹ 2300 for a bike in no parking ( I was clueless that the rates had gone that high up). I was there reasoning with him for another 45 minutes and after several demands of knowing where the cops were and I would like to speak to cop in charge right now, my bike was left with ₹200 by another polite bike lifter. Still till the end no cop to be seen.
The best thing was the feeling of being unsafe in a police station. Ahhh. That's the state.

It really makes one thing what state is our legal departments in? Everytime we have some work with places like these, there is a early visitor in the form of headache. Public offices meant for public where people don't want to go. I am not saying everyone is bad but there is a problem.

Any how after the horrible scene and with a massive head ache I headed back for the meeting.

Bless Cafe one o eight located in Kp area of Pune for having a calming effect with their ambience and organic pots of tea and refreshments.
Must visit.

The pot of Love, ya that's what it was called and I indeed needed lots. It was so good, soothing my senses completely.
