Teddy Boy Time

A new feather in the already fancy cap of the Baner food scene and one of the few rooftop restaurant in this area - Teddy Boy is sure lighting up the Baner Skyline.

The name as well as the restaurant itself is inspired by the Teddy Boy movement of the 1950's. This Delhi gastro bar brand is the brainchild of Priyank Sukhija and has a happy vibe with a fun and trendy water hole for the young and restless at heart.. The partners of Atithya Dining Hospitality have brought this brand to Pune; offering the guests a finely honed aesthetic, elevated bar and gastronomic experience.  A Sister concern of The Flying Saucer, this was also looks equally promising and enticing.
The place is divided into two floors with an indoor outdoor experience.  The lower floor has a modern English pub vibe with lots of seating and mood lighting. Whereas the terrace gives the bird eye view of Baner with glitzy night life, moonlight streaming in and a clod breeze billowing with comfortable seating and a beautiful setting. This rooftop venue can accommodate upto 350 patrons at a time. The 13,000 square foot, spacious place plays with shades of black and wood, along with colourful crockery and quirky furniture. Keeping true to the 1950's theme the ambience is retro with pop wall art and the staff too dressed to the hilt with suspenders and bows.

Chef Doyel Sarangi from Master Chef was brought on board to design and deliver the fun fusion Teddy Boy menu. The food is an amalgamation of the old and the new. The west meets the east with bursting yummy flavours and beautiful presentation. The place boasts of finger licking starters and finger food. Comfort food rules the roost.

They have their own in house DJ spinning non stop awesome tracks mainly mixed retro set. The lounge bar definitely has some great music , ambience and food.
The drinks are not at all behind in any way and keeping that a constant is Felix Eleson is an acclaimed mixologist, with 11 years experience in inventing and serving some amazing cocktails and mixes. His experience and exposure make him a connoisseur of wine and an encyclopedia of drinks. Teddy Boy also has a Banta Bar where they custom make dilli style Banta drinks!  yummmmm

The drinks sure were show stoppers have a look and exclaim in wonder .. pretty they can get ..

Now hold your breath just for the beer lovers... they have a beer soup just for you in veg as well as non veg. I couldn't stop slurping on it (though I don't enjoy beer at all)
Creamy, with chicken, onion and but of course beer spiced with herbs it was delectable.

For the grill and Tandoori lovers
Smoky Wings
I am a fan of all three above and loved it. Well marinated, well done and flavoured like your favourite Tandoori chicken - desi style.

Potato Skin Chaat
Another favorite of the night.
Just couldn't stop having this...
carts and carts of this just literally disappeared.
so well presented, the potato skins were crispy and went so well with the desi dips especially I loved the yogurt dip apart from the mint and imli (tamarind one ).
Must try..

Loved this ride ;p
Kulchas filled with aloo chaat, chicken and mutton coming my way. It was like a marathon between the three, the veg one finished first with chicken just behind it ;p

Kasundi Chicken
for the mustard lovers.
chicken satays dipped in a bed of creamy mustard dip tasted lovely and looked gorgeous.
The chicken was perfectly done and the mustard dip packed a good punch.

Tortilla Mushroom Nachos
These were yummy, the mushroom topping was really tasty and complimented the tortilla nachos perfectly. it went really well.

And the trucks parcelled some veg Papad rolls.
The stuffing is not your average masala papad but more. Surprisingly tasted really good.

There wasn't any room for Main course but the heart still wouldn't listen.
We gorged on some yummy Mutton Rogan josh, butter Chicken, Kumbh mutter hara Pyaz.
loved every bit of it.
Must Try - Kumbh mutter Hara Pyaz for the little button mushrooms flavoured along with green peas perfectly.
Mutton Rogan josh was on point, tender pieces of mutton in a rich gravy.

The Night ended on a perfect note with the Chef's special Deconstructed Rasmalai Tiramisu.
Small Juicy Rasogollas in cream, Mascarpone, chocolate and the base was yummy spongy chocolate biscuits. It was an ultimate treat. This was my favourite dessert for the night.

The night went on watching the buzzing lights passing below and me gathering my thoughts lounging lazily in the comfortable setting.

This Retro bar with its bright colors, youthful concept and great design will surely make Pune fall in love with it. The retro 'teddy' vibe, comfort food, quirky plating and mixology fit the bill.
