The Travelling Flatbread Festival at 212 All Day Cafe Bar

212 All Day Cafe Bar is hosting - THE TRAVELLING FLATBREAD FESTIVAL for 2 weeks with a specially curated menu consisting of 9 fingerlicking recipes inspired globally yet local at heart. 

I quite enjoyed this journey which literally takes your taste buds around the world and quite deliciously I must add. 

I liked all of them honestly however I will definitely rank my numero uno just for you guys to try. 

Firstly, What is a Flatbread? 

A flatbread is a bread made with flour, water and salt, and then thoroughly rolled into flattened dough. Many flatbreads are unleavened — although some are slightly leavened, such as pita bread.

a type of flat, thin bread made without yeast (= a substance that makes bread swell and become light)

Now lets see these yummy creations.

The flatbreads were lovely and crispy. 

And balanced the toppings perfectly. 

The Meat Special

Chicken Bolognese 

Rs 595 

Spicy minced chicken with Mozzarella and those assorted colourful bell peppers added lovely colour and flavour.  

This was a table favorite and how can one not love those tangy and spicy bolognese flavours balanced with that gooey Mozzarella. 

Highly Recommended. 

The Norwegian - Smoked Salmon 

And Cream Cheese

Minimilastic simple flavours. 

The Swiss - Asparagus and Bell Peppers. 

Rs 495 

Emmental cheese and Plum tomatoes

Another rustic, simple and lovely creation. 

Everything was used to the right proportion and not over the top to attain that light yet perfectly balanced taste. 

The Turk - Lamb Kibbeh and Roasted Garlic

Rs 525 

The meat balls were so juicy and perfectly spiced and flavoured, the sauce of those plum tomatoes giving a lovely light sweet tangy flavour with the cheesiness of Mozzarella. The crunchy onion rings thrown in for that lovely sweet spice factor. One bite and it left you asking for more. Lot more. 

This definitely was the Numero Uno for me.

The Italiano - Sundried tomatoes and Jalapenos. 

Rs 495 

On the bed of that yummy plum tomato sauce again with my favorite sumdried tomatoes, capers, Jalapenos - this one boasted of lovely rich tangy, salty and a bit of spicy taste with that creamy rich Bocconcini cheese. Believe me it was rustic Italian and so simple yet so amazing. 

Loved it ❤

The Parisian - Truffle Oil and Mushroom

Rs 495 

This had one word - creamy. 

What else do you expect from a fine amalgamation of Parmesan, Mushroom Ragout and Spinach. 

This was veggie magic. The taste was polished just like a Parisian and the dish was too polished as soon as it was served. 

This was definitely a Numero Uno in the veg selection. 

Highly Highly Recommended 😍👍

The Mexicana - Nacho cheese and Crushed Tortillas. 

Rs 495 

This was a complete flavourful veg nacho bursting with tomato salsa and kidney beans on the flatbread.

Need I say more ... 

Middle Eastern Classic - Baba Ganoush and Hummus 

Rs 495 

Creamy Bacconcini cheese coupled with perfect creamy hummus and that puree of sweet lemony aubergines with pickled veggies. 

Treat for the middle eastern food lovers. 

And that ended our journey on a good spirit with all that bread well we did wash it down with a monstrosity Monster Shake.

Its Ramen time for Pune as the hipster mascot Shizusan after the success of his 'Around the world in 9 Sushi' has got us some ( to be precise 5 each of veg and non veg bowls) tasty slurpy Ramen with

Now Wait a minute it is not your ordinary traditional ramen but Shizusan has lived upto his true signature pop style inspired by his travels and created unique ones.

These off the beaten path ramen bowls have the all the traditional compositions but with a twist making them extra special.

why don't you hear it from the man himself - Kartik Ganesh.

I was invited for the pre tasting of the menu and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was one fun night with good company slurping on yummy Ramen.

Refreshing Virgin Mojitos
I always love these at Shizusan.

Did you know according to the Ramen culture the louder you slurp the tastier is the Ramen.

Lets just slurping loudly without further delay, should we ? ;p

Kimchi Ramen

The Kimchi Ramen is made with rice noodles submerged in a broth made from gochujang stock and is topped with beans, roasted corn and kimchi. This was definitely one of my favourites, the broth was so good went down with an aghhhh appreciation and endless slurps.

Shanghai Chilli Chicken Ramen

For those who enjoy the ‘Chindian’ fare, there’s the Shanghai Chilli Chicken Ramen – a bowlful of your favourite hakka noodles in a spicy garlicky chilli chicken broth topped with cubes of chicken, peppers, pokchoy and cilantro. I loved this too however it could have been more flavourful found it a bit bland for its ingredients missed the punch of the chilli. However this is the only ramen for the chicken lovers. Must Try again !!

Tom Yum Ramen

So colourful isn't it.

transformation from the hearty soup to pop ramen with a good kick from the bird eye chillies and tanginess from the kaffir lime. 

Seafood Ramen

Loaded with Squid, Jumbo Prawns, Tuna, Basa- Feast for the sea food lovers.

Miso and Shitake Ramen

This was good especially those who love the shitake mushrooms, the broth was flavourful and overall it was very comforting and nice. Must Try !

Peking Duck Ramen

For the Duck lovers soul. This one left everyone wanting for more.

Peking Duck Ramen is a ramen version of the famous Peking Duck from China and has a sweet & salty hoisin broth with egg noodles topped with crispy sliced Peking duck (of course), fried wonton noodles and spinach. 

Must try!!

Malaysian Laksa Ramen

This one is my most favourite, creamy and so flavourful.

It Reminded me of Burmese Khowsuey with a twist here and there.

All the ingredients in the bowl went so well together complimenting each other.

Comfort food at its best especially in Rainy season.

Must Must try!!

Laksa Ramen – a bowl of creamy laksa broth with al dente eggless noodles topped with mushrooms, mustard cress, tofu, red radish, crushed peanuts and crunchy fried noodles.

Bangkok Ramen

Thai Green Curry with rice noodles and tenderloin.

Some at the table really loved this.

Shanghai Ramen

This came with bamboo shoots and shitake mushrooms. (not my favourite exactly)

Classic Ramen

The Classic Ramen with udon noodles in a velvety, fatty, umami tonkotsu broth topped with sliced pork belly, crispy bacon bits and nori squares. (failed to impress)

Ended this feast with some desserts for the soul. I never can get enough of their chocolate mud pie - soul satisfying and so sinful.

Kenneth Cole Arrives in Pune

Kenneth Cole launched its first store in Pune at Phoenix Market city. The brand has entered India in partnership with a long term agreement with Reliance Brands Limited. The launch was casual with shopping for the invitees over some wine and cheese. Live music just lent this evening anything but more charm. I loved their bags and footwear, the summer wear casual shirts for men are breezy and have got some lovely prints. I really lost my heart to some of the watches and I am going back indeed to buy one of these babies. 

A special thanks to Carpe Diem as well as Kenneth Cole for the invite. It was an evening well spent. Phoenix Market city has another feather in its cap. Another gem for Puneites to shop.

World Dhaba Food Festival 2 Pune

Summer started with a bang with the World Dhaba Food festival held at Balkrishna lawns brought to us by Cityshor and other sponsors which was held over the weekend. Puneites Or should I say the ever hungry Pune foodies thronged the place for tasty treats , refreshing drinks in the balmy weather grooving to the beats of the live music and to DJ Nawed. The first day saw a huge screen showcasing the always exciting India Pakistan match. The event was jam packed with patrons from all ages. One could see pretty summer fashion being flaunted by the young crowd as well as the old. The place was abuzz with activity and the vibe sure was laid back , country and super infectious. World Dhaba Food Festival had some amazing food brought to us by the pop up stalls of renowned restaurants across the city as well as some home seasoned cooks,food trucks and bars making the whole scene picture perfect. The event was managed quite well. The prices were a mixed bag of goodies, ranging from different stalls catering to all. 

All in all, the event went very well. The music was good I would say not excellent as it was on and off. The place was a bit small and became very crowded towards the end owing to the huge response the event got. 

Pune is loving these events and waiting for many such to come . Kudos

Dastkari haat samiti craft bazaar

Craft connoisseurs of the city rejoice as Pune welcomes the Dastakari Haat at the Monalisa Kalagram, end of south main road of Koregaon park from the 27th Nov - 6th Dec - 11am to 8pm.

The bazaar is a feast for the eyes for the art lovers. Local artisans from all over India are showcasing their products, sold directly by the makers. 

We were drawn in the whole vibe from the entrance itself. The colourful stalls lined with beautiful articrafts, souvenirs, textiles and much more. The range of products is myriad and includes, mojarris, silver jewellery, ethnic textiles, lamps, bags, furniture, gardening showpieces, urns, pots, stoles, shawls, sarees and lot more to chose from. 

There was beautiful live rustic music as well as folk dance performance to enthrall you while you shop to your hearts content. 

And if the hunger pangs hit while shopping worry not, there are some munchies to have from their food section.

Forever21 Launch Party

The celebrations to the crazy and unbeatable launch of Forever 21 continued with a party at Pasha JW Marriott.

The who's who was seen at this party. 

Arjun Rampal and Anusha Dandekar were seen enjoying at the launch party. 

There was no stone unturned for this party to be an instant hit. 

The ramp was ablaze with models displaying beautiful Forever21 collection, while spirits and appetisers made rounds. 

The balmy weather of Pune just added to  this magical night. 

This sure will be one launch to remember for a long time.
