Beautiful Journeys

I have realized one thing that I love journeys more than the destination. I look forward and plan for days together for the same and I am excited to embark on my journey every single time with enthusiasm. Honestly in my heart I crave for the journey to just go on and on. Journey to me is a discovery always in progress.
Journey is the present which I don't want to let go for the future destination. I like to enjoy it to the fullest while it lasts. To explore the hidden treasures it promises.
It's not about quickly getting to the destination, it's about exploring the journey whilst you get there.
We miss beautiful things on our way in the quest of our destination. And these moments, beauty and experiences make the entire process complete and surreal - unforgettable memories ( just like Life )
According to me - Destination is the finale, the end point of journey and journey is laid with pathways leading to innumerable possibilities and destinations.
And isn't life itself a journey and not a destination...... With this thought I leave you to embark on many more journeys filled with numerous possibilities..

Very aptly said indeed -- it's about the journey and not the destination.

One such journey --- ❤️❤️

A small Hike with Big Happiness.

It was Friday night and as I lay in bed at night browsing through my regular sites as usual, a post fascinated me, Thanks to Tes.

I just wanted to go there and explore the place myself. Being Born and brought up in Pune, I love the city too much, I love the hills surrounding it and since childhood enjoyed the small hikes on weekend mornings, but as Pune is growing, the hills surrounding it are rapidly dwindling. So when I saw a post about this hill on Tes's blog I had to explore it myself and bask in its beauty.

I decided to surprise hubby dear, and woke him up early Saturday morning and told him to get dressed. He was really surprised and was really excited to know where I was taking him.

I packed a quick picnic breakfast and we were on our way.

This little hill is some 20 minutes drive away from our home, exactly located right next to the
D. Y.Patil Knowledge city Lohegaon. Its a small hike, taking about 45 minutes to an hour.

Small but pretty

Please do not litter on nature trails, we always carry an extra bag for all the garbage.
Enjoy this beauty and safeguard it, do not destroy it in anyway.

Adrenaline Unlimited @ Della Adventure

Again I am back in my lazy mood, thanks to which I have this huge backlog of pending posts. I apologize to all you guys for my laziness (sheepish grin ). Well you see its the holiday time of the year. For most of the people in India The holiday season starts at the beginning of Diwali and goes on till the new year. Well its more or less in breaks ;p
So I thought why not start by sharing my first short trip of this holiday season.
By now all you guys know, how I love the outdoors and adventure, the countryside and not to forget the adrenaline. So my first trip was a mix of everything.
Our weekend at Della adventure with friends was all that was required to kick start our holiday.
Della Adventure is India's largest adventure park. Situated in the cool hill station of Lonavla amidst mountains and valleys. Its an instant rejuvenation. Having extreme sports, cozy resort, relaxing spa, beautiful surroundings, walks with loving dogs, milking jersey cows, or just curling up with a book, its an one stop destination. For my complete review of Della click here. It satiated my craving to do something over the edge and different than my everyday routine as well as rejuvenated me all together. What a start this was.... And this is what I wore ..

Clueless

One question keeps haunting me from time to time- What is my Purpose in Life? This question leads to a series of thoughts and a thread of questions which leave me confused and clueless every single time. What am I born for? What is the reason I am in this world?
According to me there is a purpose for every bodies birth. A destiny to fulfill. A contribution to make to the world. The meaning for existence. I am not talking of a job or a degree, what I mean are the deeper things in life. Things that matter. Things by which we will be remembered, even when we are not there. Things that give us sheer happiness and satisfaction. They are not measured by how big or small they are. What matters that they are big in our life.
Realization hits many a times that the best things in Life are right in front of us, but I need to find identify it myself, don't I ?My search is still going on. I still am finding my purpose of being. I am still stumbling along the path of my personal enlightenment. I am still Clueless.

I came across this website the other day that said in order to know the purpose of your life, just write this question - What is the purpose of my life? and then start writing your answers with an open heart until you stumble upon an answer which really makes you cry. This just made me wonder after countless sleepless nights and amazing number of hours pondering over this question, I still haven't got an answer. So is this that easy, will this provide me with an answer. Guess, I will have to try it out to find it myself.

Does this happen to you ? Have you got your purpose of being ? Are you as clueless as me ?

Please do share your views with me.

And now for the ootd.

Old world charm

In the crowded concrete jungle of high rises and modern technology, the old world charm still tells tales of the era bygone.

A glimpse of the beautiful Old world charm still thriving amidst the urban chaos in Pune City.

Trying to capture it all through my camera.

I love the old charming structures, their work, their architecture, the mystique.
The Era that was......

Road Trip - A perfect Vacation

We all love to go on short road trips from the city we live in and it gives us sheer bliss but not many opt for long ones.
Believe you me they are pure form of travel and exhilaration. One needs to soak in the experience of a long road trip, its an adrenaline rush with excitement and anticipation unlimited. No wonder its my favorite form of vacation.
Its been quite a while since I went on a long road trip and have been missing the whole experience. Longing for a road trip crazily and hence reminiscing about the last road trip I enjoyed.
I have just been going through the snaps and missing the whole fun when I got a mail from Indi bloggers about this contest.
I took this as a sign from above and hence cant write about anything else.
So do bear with me.

December is a lovely time for vacations as the whole of countryside is brimming with beauty post monsoons.

It was time for our family vacation and thus hubby dearest, me along with my parents, siblings and uncle's family embarked on our journey.

Type of vacation - road trip - Wild life
Duration and time - Early December - 8 days
Route taken- Maharashtra- Gujarat - Rajasthan- Madhya Pradesh - Maharashtra
ie - Pune- Mumbai - Ahmedabad - Udaipur - Ranthambore- Sagar city - Jabalpur - Kanha -Pune
Distance covered -  approx. 3000kms
Hours travelled - approx. 55 hours
Vehicle- Innova  (excellent for long trips )
Do carry all the essential things and remember and follow the  road trip list (Here)
do not forget to equip your car with all the necessities and maintenance and a trustworthy air freshener, my favorite being AmbiPur facebook.com/AmbiPurIndia

The roads were pretty good, barring a few towns till Ranthambore.
We left early morning from Pune to avoid city as well as Mumbai traffic.
The drive was scenic. I couldn't put away my camera as the landscape was so pretty and picturesque.
Being with the family, we all were very charged up for the whole vacation ahead.
Road trip is all about the journey and not the destination. We were excited about the destination but we were equally excited and enthusiastic as well as energetic about the journey.
Halting for yummy local cuisine at quaint Dhabas, refreshing ourselves with cups of tea and snacks.
Clicking pictures on random locales. Soaking in the countryside, greenery and the heavenly nature all around. Watching the landscape change and thus the way people live, dress and look. Playing games, singing songs at a loud pitch.
We were taking every pit of our journey the way it came.
We first halted at Ahmedabad for lunch which was sumptuous Gujarati cuisine, after that we halted at Udaipur and spent the night there.
We left early morning for Ranthambore and were driving as per our wish and will. After reaching Ranthambore at night, we stayed their for 2 days.
Ranthambore is a place from the bygone era as soon as you enter the forest you feel as if you are transferred to the past time of royal era. Everything about this place is majestic and beautiful. I loved the ruins all over the forest and the magnificent fort. The king of the jungle evaded us and thus we changed our route from our earlier Jaisalmer to impromptu nearby Kanha to spot the big cat.
After 2night of our royal stay we left for Kanha early morning, we halted at Sagar city in MP and next morning continued our journey. We made a pit stop at the beautiful Jabalpur by taking a small detour. Were we glad for that, as the beauty of Jabalpur left us completely spell bound. This is the same place where the entire song of Asoka ( raat ka nasha abhi) was filmed. A small boat ride with the unforgettable jovial guide, the frothy waterfall, beautiful sunset, small quaint market of marble artifacts.
We reached the final stop of our journey Kanha. Definitely a forest of every ones dreams and stories. As soon as one steps a foot in the forest you feel as if you have come alive in one of the chapters of Rudyard Kipling's book. Mesmerizing forest with its grandeur and larger than life appeal. Vast land stretching in front with animals grazing lazily. It seems the big yellow majestic cat wanted to meet us at some other place, some other time and evaded us here too.(huh)
We stayed here for 2 days and lazed around and enjoyed the nature which was unspoilt and pristine.
Started for Pune with a heavy heart, but a hope of another vacation another destination and yet another beautiful journey....

It is true that even long after a vacation the journey always remains alive in our memories forever. This journey left immortal prints in the form of beautiful landscapes, sumptuous feasts, royal escapades, the lively guide of Jabalpur, the evading big cat, spontaneous decisions, late night chatter and bonfires.
A Perfect Road Trip which will always remain so in my memory for eternity.

Here are some snapshots for your eyes only--

I have already started planning for my next perfect road trip, so keep tuned in and expect a detailed post about the same.

Till then Happy Vacationing!
