Adrenaline Unlimited @ Della Adventure

Again I am back in my lazy mood, thanks to which I have this huge backlog of pending posts. I apologize to all you guys for my laziness (sheepish grin ). Well you see its the holiday time of the year. For most of the people in India The holiday season starts at the beginning of Diwali and goes on till the new year. Well its more or less in breaks ;p
So I thought why not start by sharing my first short trip of this holiday season.
By now all you guys know, how I love the outdoors and adventure, the countryside and not to forget the adrenaline. So my first trip was a mix of everything.
Our weekend at Della adventure with friends was all that was required to kick start our holiday.
Della Adventure is India's largest adventure park. Situated in the cool hill station of Lonavla amidst mountains and valleys. Its an instant rejuvenation. Having extreme sports, cozy resort, relaxing spa, beautiful surroundings, walks with loving dogs, milking jersey cows, or just curling up with a book, its an one stop destination. For my complete review of Della click here. It satiated my craving to do something over the edge and different than my everyday routine as well as rejuvenated me all together. What a start this was.... And this is what I wore ..

Old world charm

In the crowded concrete jungle of high rises and modern technology, the old world charm still tells tales of the era bygone.

A glimpse of the beautiful Old world charm still thriving amidst the urban chaos in Pune City.

Trying to capture it all through my camera.

I love the old charming structures, their work, their architecture, the mystique.
The Era that was......

Do you like it too?

Weekend Diaries- Sinhagad in Rain

Pune rains are magical they make you fall in love with the nature over and over again. Pune mesmerizes you with its beauty and pleasant climate all year round but come monsoon and the place is vibrant and alive with its splendid glory. The ethereal charm of the city is visible in abundance in the wonderful setting of rainy season.

Over the years the city has grown leaps and bounds and has got many new changes but that age old beauty still is alive. Pune sits picturesquely amidst hills, mountains, forts and ample of country side. Just an hour of half's drive transfers you in the lap of nature.

On one such weekend we took a trip to Sinhagad ( lions fort). It is an eminent historical fort situated on the outskirts of the city. Well perched on the heights of Sahyadri mountains. The fort was conquered by and belonged to the great Maratha warrior - Shivaji Maharaj ( brush up your history lessons ;p)

Its famous for trekking, but we lazy bumps however went by car. The road to sinhagad itself is very pretty and beautiful. the earth is covered by green velvety blanket of trees. The slight drizzle of rain, lakes and dams filled with fresh rain water on our way. We actually felt as if we are travelling through the clouds. The weather was perfect, cool wind blowing on the face. The purity of nature(how I absolutely love it.).

I had a lovely time amidst nature, it was a perfect weekend.

Let the snaps do the talking.

The village ...... Down Memory lane ...

Just stumbled upon this poem ....

Was Reminded of my childhood days spent visiting my grandma in the village for summer vacation.

Still remember the essays i pain stakingly wrote on the village life in the starting of every school year for homework.

Now realise the essence of the words that were dully but truthfully poured on the blank pages.

Now crave to go back to those vacations as a carefree child to fully live them once again...............

The Village Green

On the cheerful village green,
Skirted round with houses small,
All the boys and girls are seen,
Playing there with hoop and ball.

Now they frolic hand in hand,
Making many a merry chain;
Then they form a warlike band,
Marching o'er the level plain.

Now ascends the worsted ball,
High it rises in the air,
Or against the cottage wall,
Up and down it bounces there.

Then the hoop, with even pace,
Runs before the merry throngs;
Joy is seen in every face,
Joy is heard in cheerful songs.

Rich array, and mansions proud,
Gilded toys, and costly fare,
Would not make the little crowd
Half so happy as they are.

Then, contented with my state,
Where true pleasure may be seen,
Let me envy not the great,
On a cheerful village green.

lunch date with my girls --- a little neon

Rains make you crave for comfort food, don't they ? At least to me they do that, they make me want to get in my duvet with a lovely book to read, some hot coffee to sip and some yummy fatty food to savour(guilty face). This time, Instead of being at home , i made lunch plans with my girls. We headed off to the nearby mall as its raining monsoon sales. (yippee) We burned a lot of calories walking from one shop to another for 1 hour buying some cool stuff and then headed to gorge on some Mexican food. YUM YUM YUM ! It had to be Chili's. I know i am the biggest foodie and a junk eater.(puppy sad face) You guessed it right we ended up eating- chicken, mushroom Fajitas, crispy fried chicken with ranch dressing and Mexican chillies.
It was an awesome rainy afternoon, and yes people i did slog it out later for hogging so much earlier ;p
