Stop Taking For Granted

Today I was randomly talking to some people I met and suddenly it got me thinking and the thought just stayed as much as I got busy in the daily routine and chores, I was still very much thinking about it and that's when I decided to share it with you all.
We humans are so weird and wired differently. No matter whom we meet ( any random person ) even if we don't get along with them or don't like them we are polite.
We greet people and exchange pleasantries. Even at our worst mood we maintain a good facade or we chose to be publicly on good behaviour. However little we converse, we make sure we are not hurting anyone. So we are good, are we ?
- we talk nicely to others but what about those who are our family; people who are closest to us or who matter the most. So many times we take them for granted and end up hurting them the most... shouldn't be na that ways. If something which is valuable to us we take utmost care of it then why don't we do it or show it to tje people who matter the most. So many times we remove our irritation at family. We are angry with our loved ones for no reason. We cant keep our patience in a scenario where we would have with outsiders. We forget to be fun with people we love, forget to be on our best behaviour. Forget to be our best with the ones who matter the most. Strange are we, strange are our ways. I suppose its time we take a stock and realize this. Its good to maintain our best behaviour when we are with others but then its imperative to be better than best with people who matter the most who are close to you. Time we Stop taking loved ones for granted.
With that heavy thought i present to you a light Outfit of the day - its full fledged summer and its time to get your ponchos/ kaftans out. Here I am sporting my Kaftan easy breezy top. Love loose clothes.

Why I Like Only A Closed Few Around

I am not shy neither am I introvert in fact I mingle with people in no time. When I go out to a new place or party I gel around pretty easy and then i just leave it to that. A nice time spent in that moment. Its not that I don't like people, its just that I don't want unnecessary drama in my life. I believe in the great philosophy that even if you have few closed people you can count on your fingers you are lucky and blessed. After all according to another great one you are sum of characteristics of closed people in your life. So I chose wisely rather I connect with people not that easily.
I believe in every one comes in your life for a reason and for a time so enjoy that and learn from them. Let them go without holding grudges or stretching things till they get bad. Sometimes you grow up or you just become a different person and status quo of the relationship changes - then instead of holding on, learn to live with good memories. After all decluttering is required in every aspect of your life. Don't get me wrong I don't judge, I just live life and its a short one, I want to be happy and so why complicate it with people who don't add to the beauty of it. Keep it simple na .. hence a closed few of my circle keep me sane .

Holi and other unholy things ...

This was the Holi week and people still are celebrating in different forms, today being Rang panchami in Maharashtra ( playing with colours)
Now I love all festivals and celebrated holi with gusto ( check the pic below) however I have not attached the unholy image of me going completely wild banging drums (Thali - plate to be precise) and yelling my lungs out πŸ™ˆ.
Don't worry you won't be seeing that picture in the near future ( rather never future) Though my hubby was cheeky enough to put the entire video on my snapchat as well as his. Don't you ask - he is one big monster πŸ€—
I am not sure whether i like to play with colours or no. I am unable to decide that Cause no matter how much I enjoy playing with colours the after effects of having to scrub them out from your hair and skin is a torture. I am too lazy you see. This year i didnt play just FYI however before like just 15 days I was playing in Gulal thanks to the elections. Now does that count ( may be that's why I was more lazy to play holi this time around.

The flames look so pretty na... the rangoli (white design) was made by me. Not overly pretty but not half as bad. πŸ˜‰

Coming back to holi we did have a pretty little one at my parents place with all traditions and loads of fun. I love traditions, I think they are beautiful, they have deep meaning behind them which most of the times is scientific and relevant (sometimes to more or less the olden times ).
Holi is to lighten up the darkness from within and around you, to burn the evil within us and around us.

Holi means you get to enjoy Mom's Puran Poli (sweet bread) drenched in ghee with spicy amti  (gravy), milk, crispy Bhajia  ( fritters) and crackers along with varan  (dal) bhat (rice) not to forget the ghee again.. πŸ’ŸπŸ’ŸπŸ’Ÿ it's complete love for me and I love it all steaming hot  (spoilt brat mom's love πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰)

It's the weekend and see what I have whipped up ---- lazy me ---- but yummy too.
Quick fix for that yummy comforting tummy fill ... Fried some Venky's burger patties ... crisped the burger bun with garlic butter ... dollop of eggless mayo a lovely hint ( much more than a hint πŸ˜‹ ) of Nandos very very hot sauce.. onions....loads of lettuce.. some sun dried tomatoes .. diced olives and my burger was ready ... I tried some extra spicy chicken fingers and some more olives and sun dried tomatoes on the side with a tall glass of banana milk shake . .. needless to say it was too much for me .. but nevertheless it was extremely yummy... devoured it in front of the idiot box ... comforting lazy days ...... πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”

And finally Summer is here and I just wanna keep drinking fluids which is a real good thing because body gets really dehydrated and you need to consume loads of fluids to stay cool, hydrated and keep the sugar level in balance.
I love iced teas and this summer I got this new pack of Mango, passion fruit and pineapple ice tea from Nestea which is really good. I love everything mango so I had to have this.
You can definitely check it out if you like.
I liked and I am planning to try some more mango and berry flavours in the market. Do suggest me some if you know some good ones.
That's my summer.... just drink drink drink and then binge eat... read... roam and chillax ... some times I feel I am a Lazy Panda 🐼🐼🐼
On that thought, I leave you all ... to go drink some cold coffee another favourite.
That was all for today.

See you soon.
Until then.
Stay Happy.
Happy Summers!

Shady trees, Birthday cakes and Breakfast for the King .

Sharing some random things with you guys which are close to my heart.

Canopy of shady trees - these are amongst one of my most favourite things. I grew up in a pune which was green, the roads were filled with lively giant trees forming shady canopies through which the sun smiled filtering its rays of light. I cycled on these slow traffic roads (deccan Gymkhana)with my friends and the air was crisp and nice. I miss it all terribly. Whenever I find a canopy of a nice well lived, tall big tree I reminisce about my childhood, good times and love and cherish these moments.

I Love a big hearty breakfast on a lazy weekend.
Nothing like a breakfast fit for a king at one of the old eating joints in the city. This one is at Vohuman. The best Bun mhaska (sweet fresh buns lathered generously with dollops of butter) heaven on earth and calories overload definitely but so worth it. Toast butter is another winner of course with the cheese omelette and egg burji.
After this all you require is a
marathon training exercisesnooze fest.

These amazingly sinful Oreo freak shake was a monster - delicious monster- filled with some crazy goodness of. Sinful chocolate brownie, ice cream, Chuncks of Oreo and chocolate . It was so thick. I just might as well have died and gone to heaven. I am craving it now. We had this with friends at Raasta cafe.

I cooked this darling isn't it a beauty ,,,,
Fried masaledar Pomfret - Maharashtrian style - extra spicy hot! hot!! hot!!!
We love this like crazy and cat eat kgs of this with some rice and rassa or just as a meal in itself.
Do let me know if you would like the recipe.

Love this Snapchat filter. I love to wear flower crowns since I was a small kid and act as a forest princess. Nothing has Changed ;p

I love this drink from Yoga Pulp - You can actually feel the guava nectar so good - the taste is exactly same only thing the added pro of no seeds. The seeds always always get stuck in my teeth and I go crazy one of the reasons I avoid guavas. No more , now I know just the right thing. I almost forgot to mention it is very healthy too as it has Aloevera in it. Do give it a try!!

Little girls, princess themed birthday and cakes- attending a birthday party of a very cute little sweet girl with her princess theme. I so wish I could go back to that innocent age of sweet little girls with Disney theme celebrations and princess gowns. On a second thought why not, its a great idea - my party, my theme ;p

One of my most favourite dessert - Mango cheese cake . The luscious soft cheesy texture and the way it swirls and melts in the mouth ... Ooh

Looking through the net, I wish it was a real peacock or stork on the other side. Guess , time to go for some dancing peacock spotting after all it is their favourite season.
That was all from my side, what's happening with you guys?
Do let me know, I am always eager to hear.

Until we meet again.
stay happy and cheerful !!
Lots of Love ❤️❤️

Gratitude

We are always taught from childhood that we should be thankful and have gratitude. However it was not until very recently that I realised the power of gratitude.
By being grateful for things we receive, for our life, for happiness we invite more of it to our life. Gratitude is an attitude the more you have the more you receive.
I have started beginning my day with gratitude and ending them on a note of gratitude and the joy it has brought, the contentment, the feeling of being so lucky of what I have. It has got a big change in my life. Whatever I like, whatever I am grateful for finds a way to me more and more. It's magical. All I am doing is just being thankful for this magic. Having gratitude from within, feeling it deep in my bones. It's amazing.

Give it a try. Don't expect to try this with immediate miracles. You need to develop this habit and you really need to feel thankful, blessed and lucky and not just say it.
I am sure you will immediately feel good and see the results in short time.
This will definitely make your life more beautiful.
Just start with saying a short gratitude prayer and ending your day with the same. Maintain a gratitude journal or just simply be thankful and feel it loud for the things in life. As they say - " A grateful heart is the magnet for miracles."

On that note - this is something I wore twice in a week once for an event dinner and once with friends. Sometimes I am too lazy and just repeat the outfit depending on that its different set of people I am going with. Besides I love the colour of this top. Very comfortable and yet chic, now that's my style ;).

The last few were in yellow light (gosh the difference light makes).

Girly things, what are they ?

Coffee and conversations just blend in together and when you are having coffee with your friends there is no dearth of either one.
Over the weekend I had coffee with friends and we sat for ages talking about myriad topics under the sky. We were generally discussing vacationing and the topic of how girls have their girly traits and are not ideal partners for vacation and a guys trip is more fun at any given time came up. I think most of us have this notion and many other notions on girly things or what girls do.
My guy friends mentioned about how girls are not that spontaneous and take eons to get ready and till that time the time to do something has passed.
They also said that how girls are more needy and demanding. They are picky and do not adjust. They complain and are dramatic.
I begged to differ big time.
I think these qualities and attributes are not particular for any one gender, they are mixed human qualities. They ain't necessarily girly attributes.
This stuff is basically more stereotyped by society. We grew up in a world where girls and boys were and in many places are still being brought up with values which in future make for their attributes. It's the society that drills these attributes and then it's the society that again tags them on to any one gender.
Example- it's girly to cry, girls were/are told to sit/stand/behave in respecting ways, take more time to be presentable and well groomed at all times, being perfect, being delicate, always listening to others, respecting others more, asking for your needs. Where as boys are the decision makers, the tough ones, indestructive, breadwinners, never to cry and so on.
I am sure you got my drift by now.
I am sure we won't raise our children this way in today's time.
But all this was imposed and then tagged on as being any one kind of traits related to that gender. We were taught these things. However in today's world where there is so much of knowledge, so much of exposure, so much independence, do these things hold true? Do these tags and brackets justifying our personalities and gender hold true?
I see men crying, being sensitive, caring, understanding, so is this a man being girly?
I know guys who bitch and gossip more than girls, so is that not normal for them?
Couples earn equally, I know some who earn less than their wife, so is that a big deal?
Men today give importance to their appearance, take time to get ready and are well groomed at par with women and sometimes even better than them. Is that girly?

Women are earning, independent. Can go on solo trips and are actually loving the idea. They are chilled out. I know so many women, who are just spontaneous and wild. I, myself love to live in the moment. So all these traits ain't girly, so these women are boyish, are they? Women are the most adjusting creatures I have ever seen, put them anywhere and they will survive.

It is so wrong to characterise a person based on his gender. Everyone has different traits and qualities those which are unique to that person and that doesn't necessarily make it girly or not.
It depends on the nature of a person whether that person is picky, demanding, complaining, taking more time to get ready infact today's woman doesn't have the gift of time in her hand as she is always multitasking and gets ready in a jiffy, again this doesn't go for all and neither does taking eons to get ready goes for all. Basically we can't keep everyone in the same bracket. One doesn't fit for all and all don't fit in one.

Girls today are going on bike trails from one state to another and even beyond. They are mountaineers, they love offbeat trips. They are boho travellers. They love to explore and are pretty good at it.
One can't say that all guy trips are more fun and girls spoil them.
I don't deny that every person has different definition of fun.

But one secret which isn't a secret is

GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN!!

ending on a light note.

2015 you were really good

It's the last day of 2015 and it feels it just started. For me it's quite hard to believe that the year has actually gone by and how, just in a blink of eye.
This year will always be special for me more than the others.
For one it taught me lot of things, it gave and it took and it taught me to stand inspite of it all and be inspired.
I learnt the magic of achieving dreams and working on them, the magic of creation, the magic of working together. It definitely made my belief stronger in my dreams and aspirations.
I learnt to say good bye. Forever is nothing, Change it is and it will remain forever. We adapt and we adapt well.
The fight to survive will only sustain us.
Love is best in its unconditional form.
To let go is to grow, let go of my fear, anger, pain, inhibitions.
By holding on to grudges I torture myself more, so just let go for my own good.
Patience is understated.
There is almost nothing and no problem big enough which can't be solved and seen through with patience.
Waiting through itself gets us out of big hurdles.
Take the leap, you will be amazed how far can you land.
Overall wellbeing and health is most important - yoga is magic and so is meditation, clean eating is the potion to this magic.
Last - de clutter - de clutter your life from things you don't need, from people who are not worthy from thoughts which hurt you. Distance yourself from drama.
Positivity is the solution for a beautiful life.
Stay simple you don't need things that you think you do. Beauty lies in simplicity.

This is what I learned in a nutshell.

2015 made me stronger and definitely grew in the right direction. Thank you so much for all that you have given.

Bidding you good bye in style -

Happy New Year 2016

First post of 2016.
To new beginnings, new projects, new aims, new thoughts, aspirations, perfection.
Perfection to achieve the dreams, perfection in life, relationships, career  perfecting me.
On my mind today  is Perfection or is it?? Perfection is just a thought - we can strive for it, however no one is 100 %perfect. I myself am imperfect and I take pride in it. I don't want to be dazzled by a word which just plays with your mind and never satisfies the inner demons until you achieve that state of perfection which is a myth according to me. God has created us as imperfect creations, we are meant to be that way no body has every thing in perfection. The journey of life is to understand this and learn from our imperfections, strive to better ourselves. In the race to perfection many a people just let go of what they have in hand. In such of that perfect relationship, perfect companion, perfect job, perfect life, perfect figure we are missing on our today , on what we have in hand.
I love myself the way I am, I celebrate my imperfections. Doesn't mean I will not strive to better myself but never will I run behind perfection - a myth that is.
So this new year of mine is going to be imperfectly perfect ;) what an irony πŸ™ˆπŸ˜œ☺️

With that thought an outfit for the winters, layers it is.....

On my Mind

 http://linksredirect.com?pub_id=2731CL2612&url=http%3A//www.askmebazaar.com/

Just talking about small things currently on my mind today. Things I did throughout the week, things which I love.
I love BBQ nights, be it with friends, family or partner, they will never disappoint. Had a lovely date at home on my terrace with hubby❤️.
Balmy night, smoky veggies and meat and the warmth of coal with music playing in the background whilst sipping on cocktails. What else does one need, a partner indeed πŸ˜‰. ( there are times when  you feel like barbequeing your better halves head, but then again who will keep the coal hot.πŸ˜πŸ™ˆ )
A perfect date at home 😍

Spotted a lone lamp, illuminating effervescent golden glow through its antique kinds glass globe. Old world charm !! I couldn't help but marvel at it for a long time, just one lamp can add so much surreal beauty, it made me wonder the era gone by with its grandeur and splendour. I sometimes feel I should have been born in those golden times. Sighhhh wishes .....

A lovely dinner date with your girls in the miidle of the week is splendid for the soul. Hearty laughs and gossip session over my favourite Italian food.
I love this cosy cafe and love to spend hours over there (Beetroot Bistro )

Natures wonders never fail to amuse you ever. It's we who are so callous and always never give them their due neither appreciate its beauty fully.
The conch itself is so marvellous and then when it sings songs of the sea in your ear it's a too beautiful to be true.
Enjoying and gaping at in awe on spiritual afternoon with family.

These little things in life keep me rooted and happy. These little treasures and moments make life big ,,

Live big not long ...❤️❤️❤️

What's on your mind ?
