Part 2 -- black LBD for every body shape

Following --- Part 1--Love with Little Black Dress ( LBD)

This is the Part 2 of Love with little black dress (LBD)

As we saw in the earlier post that the LBD is a fashion classic and is a must have in the closet for every girl / women.
Every girl should have it, but every girl has a different body shape, lets find out a perfect black dress for every girl out there.

to know in detail about body structures and shape click here

Pear shaped body / bottom heavy

A line dress, fuller silhouettes, fabric that skims the lower half of the body and enhances the upper half, think cinched waists, halter dresses, empire dresses.Drive attention to the upper half of the body with details and camouflage the lower half.

Apple shaped body / inverted triangle-

a body having top heavier than bottom, such body type females should go easy on the top and have a well fitted bottom.Avoid large , plunging or deep necklines. Draw attention to the lower half body with detailing on the skirt , figure hugging, keep the upper half simple and considerable loose.

Banana shape body/ rectangular/petite

Having hardly any curves, this body type should go in for dresses which are more feminine and gives an image of curves. Try dresses with greater detailing, wear more prominent necklines. A sheath dress ending just above the knees always works wonders.Empire line, chemise fit, ruching, trimmings, work on the bust will all suit petite person to achieve a feminine and a fuller look.

Hourglass / curvy figure

A curvy body, with bust hip ratio almost same, voluptuous figure with a comparatively small waist (think Betty Boop)
If you are blessed with the hourglass figure then most of the dresses suit you and you can experiment with your style. V necks and A lines look fabulous though.

Plus size

For those on the heavier side with big curves, Lbd rocks too. Go in for wrap dresses, dresses which give the image of curvy body.

Other challenging areas

wide shoulders - one shoulder dress, asymmetrical neckline

flabby arms- long sleeves, semi transparent sleeves. slit sleeves

unattractive legs - go in for a little longer dress.

Thick waistline- lower the waistline, raise it with a line or empire or eliminate it altogether with a sheath dress

too thin- think of loads of layers, ruffles, bows, details.

thick thighs- think A line, fabric flowing and skimming the lower body.

Celebrate Curves

After the stick thin size zero ruling the roost on thr runways and the fashion scene for a long time, finally the fashion scene is getting a change.

Curvy and more fuller figures are back in business by demand ;p
big bust big hips with narrow waist are making their come back like the good old yester years stars like Marlyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Mumtaz, Neetu singh and so on.

Stars like Lindsay Lohan, Jlo, Scarlett Johansson,Vidya balan, Nigella Lawson, Aishwarya Rai,Kate Winslet, Drew Barrymore,Beyonce, Neha Dhupia,Salma Hayek,Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Love Hewitt are already flaunting their well endowed hour glass figure.

An hour glass figure demands fashion and clothes to make the body look more beautiful by defining the curves rather than take away from the beauty of this figure.

  • dress for the size you are and not what you were, be comfortable in your body.
  • Dress from the inside out. A well-fitting bra and shapewear will camouflage all lumps and bumps.
  • Clothes should skim your body, not cling to it avoid tight fitting that doesnt mean you wear baggy.
  • Think high-waist,
  • wide trousers,
  •  A-line or flared skirts.
  • Don't cover your curves! Big clothes on big bodies only make you look bigger.
  • Skirts should end just before or under the kneecap. Your legs will look longer.
  • Shorter, fitted jackets will also flatter your legs—and waist.
  • Avoid elasticized waistbands. They might be comfortable, but they add bulk to your midsection.
  • Keep necklines open. A deep V- or scoop neck lengthens your neck.
  • A dress with a belt will cinch you in, focusing attention on your smaller waist.
  • Wide feet need to be counterbalanced with wide heels. A thinner heel only draws attention to your wider foot.
  • sharp, tailored clothes
  • Pencil skirts,
  •  fitted jackets
  • strapless dresses
  • feminine styles suit such body structure rather than todays boyish, androgynous styles.
  • Deep v-neck sweaters,
  • tight fitting blouses
Lets look at the styles well endowed women should sport.

v neck, one shoulder, fitted jackets

Dress with belt , cinching in the waist , to add to the curves and grab attention to the small waist.
